From my room, the farmland and mountains were lovely to look at, and the homestay is close to the platform with great views of Bromo. My Jeep picked me up around 3 AM, so I had about two hours to wait for sunrise. The room was roomy and the shower had warm water, though its flow was a little weak and I wished the blanket were thicker. A very nice homestay. 👍

The owner, Mas Arif, was really kind and helpful, and the new building feels bright and fresh. It’s in a lively area, with a cafe, convenience store, and souvenir shop nearby and right across the road. The Bromo ticket gate is about a three-minute walk away. The water heater worked properly. A two-bedroom homestay costs around Rp 500,000-600,000. Bring your own mineral water, since they don’t provide it.

We weren’t allowed to use the toilet after checking out when we asked. They also don’t provide towels or toiletries, which made the stay even less recommendable.

The room door wouldn’t close, and the outlets weren’t suitable for overseas plug pins. The kitchen was dirty, and the toilet smelled bad and wasn’t clean. I wouldn’t book this homestay.

A clean place with hot water and a small kitchen, and just right for one night before heading to Mount Bromo. I’d recommend it for four people.
