The location is really good, and the family running this small hotel is very friendly and does what they can to help. The room, number 1, was very bare and cramped, though. The bathroom worked, but smelled bad, and I didn’t try the shower because the water kept cutting off randomly. The bed was old enough that I could feel the springs.
We stayed in room 2, and the smell was the big problem for me. The room was really smelly, and the toilet smelled terrible too. They’d cleaned it before check-in with a product that also had a strong odor. I’m not fussy or difficult, but this was a lot for my nose. The location was great for walking to bukit hill to see the sunrise, and there were nice restaurants and local shops within walking distance.
I arrived at night and couldn’t figure out the way to the homestay. I contacted the property, but got no reply, so I couldn’t check in. Before that, they’d been actively asking where I was, but once I reached the property and needed to get in touch, I couldn’t reach them. I hope the business goes smoothly, but I’ve been through enough and hope nobody else has to be the next victim.
The view of Bromo is right there when you open the door. The room and bathroom were clean, and there was hot water and two blankets. The guy looking after us was really friendly. Thank you.
It’s one house with three rooms and one bathroom, and the place itself is okay. The service was lacking, though, and when we first arrived there was no water.
