SM Bromo Hotel

The location works well for sunrise, but that was the only plus for us. The rooms and breakfast area weren't clean, and there was no cleaning service. We couldn't even take a shower during our two days there. The main road is very close and kept us from sleeping.

The service was awful. Hot water kept cutting in and out, and the whole hotel had just one hair dryer, so you had to wait your turn. In that cold weather, getting stuck without hot water halfway through a shower was especially miserable. Hot water is a basic necessity here.

The room needs better cleaning, and the hot shower needs fixing. Nights were noisy, both from the village and from people at the hotel. Parking is cramped, and staff didn't always manage it well. We got trapped when cars from the pajero community of sumatra blocked our spot, and the staff couldn't do anything about it.

We stayed one night as part of a Bromo tour. The room was spacious and clean, with extra bedding for the chilly mountain night, and there was a pleasant seating area on the shared access balcony. Free ginger coffee was available, just right for warming up before setting off to Bromo before dawn. When we returned, we had a tasty late buffet breakfast before leaving. Dinner choices were limited, so we ate at the restaurant. It was reasonable, though a little more expensive than usual, probably because there weren't many alternatives.
