The pool helped make up for some room issues, though there are no steps in or out, which may be difficult for older guests or anyone with disabilities. The staff were nice, and the room was spacious with a small patio. For what you pay, don’t expect too much. The room doors didn’t seal well, so bugs and mosquitoes could get in. The outdoor bathroom’s shower holder was broken, and although the AC worked, it didn’t blow cool air strongly enough to keep the room comfortable.

We had a very good stay and the price-to-comfort ratio was great. Special thanks to DEK AR for the excellent service and help. He’s one of the best guys on Nusa Penida and the reason we’re coming back.

We come here often because the rooms are nice and affordable, and it’s great value. This visit, though, Pak Eka, the staff member who checked us in, insisted on adding a 3% surcharge for paying by credit card, even though my card is from a local bank. According to local law, that practice has been illegal since 2001. It may seem like a small amount, but it adds up if this is common practice. When I said it wasn’t right, he just replied, “It’s not that much.” I don’t think that behavior should be tolerated.

The place is a pleasant one, though it’s some distance from the port. A drop-off or pickup costs about 200k IDR, and there’s no view from the property. The hotel next door has good food, and rental bikes are available for 100-150k IDR. We had a good stay and the rooms are large, comfortable, and look nice, but there were a few issues. We booked a bungalow, their premium option, and the bathroom wasn’t up to standard. The shower head was broken, and there’s a bathtub but no hot water for it, which defeats the point of wanting a relaxing bath after a long day. The AC also takes a while to cool the room. Staff weren’t as polite as people in Bali generally are, and we didn’t get the welcoming smiles or feeling of hospitality. They seemed focused on business. There’s no room service after 8 p.m., and requests are dealt with the next day. The place is cheap for what it offers and fairly priced for the location. I’d still recommend it as good value if they fix the problems.
