Gamat Garden Home Stay

It's wonderfully quiet, surrounded by nature, and just right for resting after a day exploring the island. The facilities are kept in good shape, and the service is friendly without hovering. I really enjoyed the calm atmosphere and the chance to slow down. I'd love to come back.

The family running this hotel, parents and children, made it feel special from the start. Saying goodbye to them at the entrance is something I won't forget. I'll be back in September, life permitting, and I'm leaving with a full heart. Thank you for everything, and I wish you all the best. The location is spectacular for switching off, and the staff were incredible. We ate very well at the restaurant, with reasonable prices. The pool was a gem, and the water was warm. Our room was spotless, roomy, and beautifully decorated. For such a small, intimate hotel, I think it can hold its own against the best around.

The view over the islands and ocean is enchanting, and once we arrived, the difficult scooter ride from the main road faded from memory. The route is rough for about 2-3km, so take care. There's an infinity pool, and the family who runs the accommodation also runs the restaurant. The food was delicious. You can also arrange a massage at the shelter by the pool. There are one semi-detached building and three separate houses. I'd choose a separate house. We stayed in the semi-detached one, and the experience was unpleasant. The door had sagged and wouldn't open properly. The curtains sat so far from the window that light came in at the sides. Since our room was first in the row, other guests walked past it, and at night, with the lights on inside, the toilet could be seen from a certain angle. The worst issue was the toilet. It shares a wall with the neighbor's toilet, and a large hatch had been cut into the thin wall. We could hear everything and smell it in our room. When the neighbor used the toilet at night, it woke us as if it were ours. Later, we had to open the door because the smell had spread through the room. I've never had that happen at any accommodation. The owners were extremely nice, so I hope they'll close up the hole. If they fix that, the place is definitely worth a visit. The view alone didn't make up for the experience, though.

The beach and sunset bar are both just a short walk away. The location is amazing, and the staff were welcoming and friendly. I can't recommend it enough!
