Toya Pakeh seems best for the last night of a trip, or a one-night visit to Nusa Penida, since it is near the harbour. For a longer stay, I'd choose Crystal Bay or the island's east side near Diamond Beach. The main sights, including Diamond Beach, Kelingking Beach, Broken Beach, and Crystal Bay, are very far away. The room and bathroom were large, clean, and peaceful despite being in a busy central area. You can walk to the harbour, supermarkets, and plenty of good restaurants. Hot water was always available, and balcony rooms look out over a coconut garden. There were a few drawbacks: the mosque was very loud every two or three hours until evening, and the shower water seemed a little salty. My skin felt dry all day, though I'm not sure the water was the reason. There were no flip flops or kettle in the room, and I didn't feel comfortable using the shared kitchen because it was untidy and not clean.

The courtyard is airy and lovely, and I really liked the feel of the place. Rooms are simple, neat, and clean. It's close to the port, with restaurants, cafes, and local markets nearby, and handy for getting to attractions on both the east and west sides of Nusa Penida. A few things to know: the island's water pressure is weak, the road to the accommodation gets muddy in rain, and the surrounding houses mean you can hear prayers very early in the morning.

In a calm place like Nusa Penida, this location, the great service, and such a lovely owner are all you need.

The people running the place were really nice, and everything else was great. Free water was a big bonus too. I'd recommend it.
