Penida Dream Homestay and Hostel

The room felt brand new and was spotless when we arrived. It wasn’t cramped, the bed was big with fresh, clean linens, and the AC cooled it down really well. Lighting was good, too, with sockets near the mirrors for a hairdryer or straighteners. The bathroom looked modern and clean, with good water pressure, plenty of hot water, and basic toiletries. Housekeeping came daily without us asking and left everything very clean. We appreciated having a kettle, tea, and coffee in the room. Wi-Fi stayed strong and reliable, and there’s a nice upstairs terrace with a hammock and beanbags, a good spot to relax in the afternoon. The staff were friendly, attentive, and made an effort to chat. It’s about a 12-minute walk from the port, which worked well with our heavy backpacks. The homestay is on the port side, near most restaurants and activities, and easy to spot thanks to the sign saying “Nusa Penida Homestay.” The neighborhood felt safe. The long road gets quite dark at night, but people were always walking along it, so it never felt isolated. Dogs bark at night, as they do everywhere on Nusa Penida. Check-in was straightforward, though we had to wait until 2pm, their standard policy. Check-out was easy. The price felt very fair for a clean, comfortable room in a convenient spot, and there were no unexpected fees. I’d happily stay here again. It’s a solid, no-frills homestay.

They went way beyond what I expected. They drove me to local spots and my dive shop, then helped me through buying ferry tickets and made sure both my luggage and I arrived safely. I can’t recommend this homestay enough!

My wife hurt her foot and couldn’t really walk, so having a comfortable place to stay for a few days while she healed was a real help. The room was cool with AC, had a big comfy bed and a decent shower, plus a small closet where we could hang things and unpack. It’s set back just enough from the main road to feel quiet and peaceful, but still an easy quick walk to it. You could order food from the homestay for a lazy meal, and they provided drinking water to help avoid Bali belly.

The staff were so friendly, and housekeeping did a great job, keeping the room clean and topping up the water and soap. We also liked that breakfast came right to our room and the ferry was an easy walk away. The shower had great pressure and temperature, too.
