I stayed for a month while doing my diving instructor course, and the value for money was fantastic. It’s a great location if you want to be in Ped or near Purple Dive and the other dive centres. There are nice restaurants a short walk away, and Sampalan and Toyapakeh are each within a 10-minute scooter ride. Just off the main ring road, it’s surprisingly quiet, especially at night. The cute little room was immaculately clean, with daily cleaning and servicing, and the aircon worked great. Ketut was super helpful and always available via WhatsApp. I liked the tiled open-roofed bathroom and the mosquito net over the comfy four-poster bed, though I never noticed any mosquitos in the room. The shared kitchen for the other 2 rooms had all the basics, including a big fridge. I can’t recommend it highly enough and will definitely return.

The owner was really helpful and picked me up from the harbour, then dropped me back there. The bungalow was clean and nicely set up, small but with enough room for my things and a balcony with seating. There’s great snorkling at the beach across the road, plus plenty of good restaurants and spas nearby. No kettle, but they’ll bring hot water when needed. The AC and hot water both worked well. I’d definitely return.

I didn’t end up staying at The Layar Homestay because I had to change my dates and eventually cancel. The host was flexible and very accommodating throughout. Based on that understanding, I’d definitely book there in the future.

They were so kind and ready to help whenever we needed anything. The place is close to the beach, good restaurants, and places to do laundry or rent a scooter, which made it a great base for visiting Nusa Penida. Thanks for everything!

The hosts were helpful, and the price was great. We slept comfortably, had hot showers, and the air conditioning kept the room cold. Had a really good stay and would definitely recommend it.
