Timbool Bungalow

It’s about 10 minutes from the main strip, with helpful staff, AC, and a reasonable price. There’s a pool and a pretty crappy motorbike you can rent. It met all my needs for my budget, so I recommend it. The place is a bit run down and could be cleaner. There was poo around the room, maybe from a mouse, lizard, or cockroach, despite it being cleaned almost every day. Luckily I didn’t see any of them, though I did wake up to poo on my bed one day, and they changed the sheets for me. The toilet and sink leak, and there’s basically no hand soap.

The garden is lovingly laid out, and the pool is lovely. Set far enough back from the street, it feels like a quiet little oasis. The owner and staff are very helpful and can arrange a scooter or transport on short notice. The bungalows are basic, with little beyond a bed and hot shower, but they do have aircon and a decent sized breakfast served on your own veranda. They’re starting to feel a little aged, even though they’re only a few years old. Nice service, and a good price for the area if you’re okay with a simple stay.

Really good value for what you get, and the bungalow was simple but clean. The owner was super friendly, helped arrange whatever I wanted to do, and shared tips too. They can sort out a scooter or snorkelling trips. Best budget option, with super service!

The owner lady Lim is really sweet. When they found out I’m from India and Hindu, they were delighted to hear about Indian culture. It was a great stay, and I hope to come back. I was travelling solo and arrived without a reservation. The room was basic, but I negotiated a good price, much better than the online rates. It’s a family run guest house, and they’re polite, though their English isn’t good, so I had to use a translator to explain things. I accidentally ended up with a different scooter from the one I’d rented at the port. The scooter owner came to the hotel and demanded a huge amount to retrieve it from Klingking beach, or told me to get it myself. The family stepped in to help. One of the hotel staff rode with me to Klingking beach on his motorbike, and we brought the scooter back. They didn’t charge me anything for that kind gesture.
