Manduna Resort

The resort's beach was beautiful, covered with lovely shells, and the water was great for snorkeling or surfing. Often we had the whole stretch to ourselves. At night the sky was so clear and dark that we saw more stars than ever. We met other lovely families, which added to the warm, home-like feeling. With our daughters, aged 7 and 10, this was a perfect family island stay, simple, natural, and full of warmth. The island is still underdeveloped, which is part of its charm, though there are no large supermarkets. Bring extra sunscreen, especially if you have lighter skin, since it's hard to find locally. When we ran out, Lanna kindly shared her own. Manduna Resort made us feel welcome from the first contact. Before we travelled, Lanna and Elias started a WhatsApp group and helped with every detail, from Susi Air tickets to fast ferry transfers. At arrival, Eduardo, the owner, and his friends greeted us warmly. They are Brazilians with a lot of hospitality. Breakfast was a highlight: each morning there was a small checklist so we could choose fresh fruit, scrambled eggs, Brazilian dishes, and coffee. Eduardo also checked whether we or the kids wanted anything else, always with a smile. We rented scooters from Manduna to explore. One evening our fuel was getting low, and we planned to ask where to refill the next day. The staff had already topped up the tank before we mentioned it, and didn't ask for payment. That kind of thoughtful service continued throughout our visit. They also helped arrange surf lessons and advised us on good snorkeling times. Our stay had a lovely balance of comfort, community, and natural beauty. Getting there from Amsterdam takes a while, but it was worth the trip. Manduna Resort has won our hearts, and we'll definitely return!
