Tanjung Kodok Beach Resort

The location and view are amazing, and the food was good. Staff were polite, and the restaurant staff were kind. I'm giving service a 3 because they provided a stand cooler, but they couldn't resolve the problems with our family room. It had four beds and a sofa, but only one small AC at one corner of the 30-foot-long room. It couldn't cool even the area near the first bed, much less the fourth bed at the other end. In such hot weather, the room needs at least a 1 ton AC or two half ton units on opposite sides. We were very uncomfortable. After we complained, they brought a stand cooler with a large exhaust pipe running into the toilet, blowing hot air into the bathroom. It helped the room a little more than the AC alone, and we hoped the toilet exhaust would remove the heat. At night, we found that turning off the room lights also shut off the bathroom light and exhaust fan, so the heat couldn't get out. We had to sleep with the bedroom lights on. An electrician checked the switch that night and said everything was connected to one switch and nothing could be done. There was a separate toilet switch, but it didn't work. In the morning we asked reception to change rooms. They said they'd send an electrician, then said they'd ask their supervisor, but nothing happened. When we followed up, they said all rooms had the same problem. Please don't book the family room.

The pool sits right beside the ocean, so you can cool off with the waves nearby and watch the sky turn vivid at sunset. Tanjung Kodok Beach Resort has a relaxed coastal feel and a lovely spot for a quiet break. Some parts could use a little refreshing, though. The natural scenery and seaside atmosphere still made the stay memorable.

The staff were nice, and there was a good range of food on the menu, including a good breakfast. The room was just fine. Please get rid of those smelly chemical balls in the bathroom. They’re poisonous and can cause cancer, and have been forbidden in western countries for a long time. You surely don’t want to harm your staff or customers!

The view was nice during the holiday season, but the stay was disappointing. It took nearly an hour to check in, and the process felt slow and outdated. The room still seemed dirty from the previous guest, with lots of hairs on the floor and dim lighting in the bathroom. The furniture looked worn, and the AC didn’t feel cool. The restaurant was overpriced and not worth it, though breakfast was acceptable. Since breakfast is part of the guest package, it’s probably best to come just for that.
