The staff were warm and willing to help, and the location is handy: the beach is three minutes away, laundry is six minutes away, and there are lots of warungs and restaurants along the street. It’s an affordable spot for a couple of days. The downstairs warung serves tasty food and gives guests a 10% discount. My room was mostly clean, though I wiped the floor and table myself. The linen had a few old marks but was generally clean, and the air conditioning worked well and was clean. There was only one sink on the third floor, but it wasn’t too busy while I was there. The bathrooms and showers did get cleaned, just not quickly. One shower had a discarded diaper and bits of plastic in it for a day or two, and the other was hard to use because its light was broken. Noise carries through the walls, which sometimes shook, and I couldn’t tell why.

The room was basic, fine for one night, but I wouldn’t stay longer. There wasn’t hot water, and the bathroom and toilet were unpleasant. A sink in the toilet, bathing soap, and toilet paper would have helped. My room was outside the main building, and the guard dog downstairs barked all night, so I couldn’t sleep properly. Nothing especially impressive about this homestay.

The staff were humble, kind, and helpful, and the place is close to the beach and easy to get around from. I’ll keep it on my list for another trip.
