Friendly staff and good food 😊 The location makes it easy to walk around, and it's about 40mnt from the airport. Blue bird taxi, grab, and gojek are easy to get.

The building is beautiful, and the rooms are clean and nice. But we struggled to sleep because sound carries so badly here. We heard people shouting and laughing in the hallway for ten minutes the afternoon we arrived. We thought it was ordinary afternoon noise, but it continued to be a problem. At 3:50 a.m., someone upstairs had a phone alarm that rang for ten minutes, three times, nearly half an hour in all. It sounded as though the phone were in our room, and we could feel the vibrations. My husband even thought it was my phone. We eventually got back to sleep, but after 6:00 AM there was no chance. Families shouted along the hallway from the elevator to their rooms, neighbors sneezed repeatedly, and people laughed and chatted without considering who might still be asleep. Another woman was so fed up that she opened her door and called out in English, "There are people sleeping here!" I felt for her. It was practically like sleeping on the street. I’m fairly sure the issue is this hotel, rather than Indonesian hotels generally: we'd stayed in five others before, including one with lots of rowdy Europeans, and hadn't had anything this bad. Thankfully it was only one night. Bring really thick earplugs, or I’d avoid the place.

The rooms are cleaned every day, and the food is delicious. You can find local traditional food in the area around the hotel. I'd recommend choosing Ibis hotel for work or travel in Padang.

The room was clean, with a nice view, and the hotel is near the city center. Good food, a nice place, and excellent service from the receptionist.
