The room I booked didn’t match the layout I found, yet they wanted about 140k a day. When I asked for a refund, I got a smirk. The staff handed over a key and then seemed to disappear for the day; they didn’t speak English and had no manners. There was no water at the bathroom sink and no hot water, so I had cold showers for three days. The floor was covered in hair, with dust, mold, and spider webs in the corners. The walls were torn, and I found a huge cockroach crawling on the bed. The toilet looked like one at a village bus station, and the faucet seemed like some ancient relic. Even an 80k-a-night boarding house has better hygiene, tiles, and furnishings. There was no cleaning or maintenance. Don’t book this place. It feels like a scam, and the price is wildly out of proportion to the conditions.

There wasn’t even one bath towel per day, and the towels they had were ugly. The room also had no trash bin or toilet paper. Maybe that’s considered the Indonesian standard for foreigners, but I didn’t expect it.

There’s plenty of food nearby, and it’s not far from Siti Nurbaya Bridge or the beach. The price is affordable, and the room is roomy, with a bigger bed and TV than an average OYO.
