The rooms are neat and clean, and the Wi-Fi is good. It's close to Padang beach and the big, beautiful new grand Mosque. Ask the receptionist if you want a window, since some rooms don't have one. There's no elevator.

Pantai Padang is very close, a nice spot to sit with fresh coconut water and wait for sunset. There's a foodcourt across the street too. Plan B is a fairly priced three-star hotel with a cozy feel in the outdoor cafe, indoor restaurant, and hallways. My room was clean and tidy, a little small, with warm carpet and standard amenities. Breakfast has Indonesian dishes plus a few western choices like toast and waffle. It's a three-story building with no elevator, though you can request bell boy help with your belongings.

In the center of Padang, Plan B Hotel has a great location. The rooms were immaculate, and the receptionists and security staff were friendly. Highly recommended.

The hotel is right in front of the sea, which makes it a really worthwhile place to spend a couple of days. I also have a personal connection to it: I trained here for a week and got my POP certificate. As a newcomer to town, I met many friendly people. I found the hotel very nice and comfortable.

The breakfast at the hotel didn't offer much choice, but the restaurant opposite is incredible. Every dish there is crazy good. I don't really understand why people give this hotel a dodgy connotation, since it definitely wasn't anyone's plan B for us. The rooms are comfortable, though I saw some that looked more worn than others. Room cleaning and water were handled well as basic services. They don't have several useful things, like a hairdryer or safe, but the necessities are done well.
