Amaris Hotel Palembang

The restaurant was clean, but its air conditioning wasn’t on, maybe to save on costs. The express Wi-Fi was fast. When I came into the hotel, I saw a Super Air Jet flight attendant checking in at 1 pm. My ratings: meeting room, restaurant, Wi-Fi, lobby, parking, and Musholla all get five stars; the toilet gets four. The restaurant AC gets one.

I booked this budget hotel just to wait for my flight, since the location suited me, and wasn’t expecting much. Then I tried breakfast, and for whatever reason, the food really hit the spot. I’d give it 11 out of 10. If people I know visit Palembang, I’ll tell them to skip the 4-5⭐️ hotels and come here to eat.

The front desk staff were friendly, but the room had a serious problem. The A froze at night and left a puddle on the floor. My husband stepped in it in the dark and slipped, almost falling. Water was also shooting out over the desk, where we had important papers. We told the desk and were told they’d look into it. I wasn’t impressed.

The room was clean and the staff were friendly, and we had a great stay overall. A couple of things bothered me: there was mold in the bathroom that needs attention, and I’m not sure why staff were serving themselves breakfast from the guest buffet. Surely one cook could make food for everyone in the kitchen. We hope to come back soon.
