The building is old and a bit worn, but my AirBnb room was clean, spacious, and worth the price. I stayed in a friendly neighborhood, with coffee shops and food stalls close by. On a morning walk I found some delicious street gudeg and brought it back for breakfast.

The units are large, especially for the price, but the constant interruptions made it impossible for us to rest. Renovations happened above and below our unit throughout the WHOLE YEAR, with no advance notice from the apartment. We’d suddenly hear hammering during rest time, at any hour, without knowing what was going on. We complained directly several times, but nothing changed. There’s also a church below the rooms, with a band every saturday evening and sunday morning. It vibrated the whole floor for hours, and they hadn’t mentioned it before offering us the units to rent. Maybe the apartment’s age is part of it, but the management was very poor. After getting fed up and finding no more reason to stay, we left because of the disturbance and severe inconvenience. I’m sorry, but I wouldn’t recommend it when the disruptions make rest so unpredictable throughout the year. We don’t mean to be negative, but hope this gives them insight and helps prevent more conflicts in the future🙏

The rooms were fairly spacious, with a big living room and dining table, and the price was quite cheap. It could work for a family or for sharing during a trip. The building and its decor, inside and out, feel very old. The lobby and reception are tiny but adequate. Only one elevator was working, and it sounded creepy.

The room was big and the location right in the middle of town is great. It’s a standard hotel or apartment, though it can feel quite creepy at night. That’s understandable since it’s one of the old hotels in Yogyakarta.

It’s quiet enough to be something to keep in mind if you’re on your own at night. For the price, though, it’s not that bad.
