This turned into the most disappointing stay I can remember. At arrival, the manager said we were being confused with a group that had booked six rooms. We had only reserved three. Then the accommodation canceled my app booking on its own. The room setup wasn’t what I’d booked: I reserved an OYO room but got an ordinary room without the usual OYO amenities. We were promised a non-smoking room, but it smelled of cigarettes. I booked three rooms and only received two, plus an extra bed that was just a thin foam mattress on the floor in front of a 14-inch TV. The TV didn’t work, and the single AC in one room didn’t work either, so they gave each room a fan. The bathroom light was out, and neither the bedroom nor bathroom doors would shut. Six people had to share one bathroom. A cat kept coming in, which was very annoying. The price was also confusing. The app showed 383,000 Rupiah, but I was charged 400,000 Rupiah, and I had to negotiate down to 450,000 Rupiah. When I asked for blankets, they only gave us three for six people and said the rest were still being washed.

The service was unfriendly, and it felt like revenue mattered more than customer care. At night, the lights and power kept going out, and the AC didn’t work properly. This was worse than a standard homestay. I hope management changes how the business is run. Guest satisfaction is key to a hotel’s success. I took the photo overnight, when the lights and AC had gone out several times.

The room didn’t look like the photos. It was dusty and hadn’t been swept, the lights were off, there was no blanket and only one towel, and the mattress was uneven. Oyo, please pay more attention to guest satisfaction. I’ve never had such a bad room before, especially when a better place can cost only a little more, or sometimes the same.

The room door was broken and couldn’t be locked when I first arrived. The AC was on, but it wasn’t cooling and no air came out, so I paid for an AC room and got no benefit from it. The lights also went out several times. It was really bad, haha.

I’m disappointed with the service, cleanliness, and security. I’m also upset that a hotel using the name Sharia is involved in behavior that goes against Islamic law. I ask that “Sharia” be removed from the Romeo Hotel name, because this is completely against Islamic law. Thank you.
