Alibaba Hotel

The room was clean and had what I needed for one night, including air conditioning. But as a non-smoker, I ended up in a room without windows. The staff fixed a shower problem, and checkout was straightforward, with my 100k deposit returned. Breakfast was very limited, and I had to fend off ants to get jam. Bottled mineral water prices also varied depending on who was selling it. I was told a taxi for a 20-minute ride would cost 100k, which seemed excessive since the same distance cost 45k in Semarang.

I usually stay here for a few days when I visit Pangkalan Bun. The room was clean enough, though little annoyances came up now and then, and I had a faucet problem in a deluxe room. I wouldn’t recommend breakfast: the choices are usually limited and the taste is pretty ordinary.

The central location and price are hard to beat, and the staff were friendly and did what they could to help. The room cleanliness was a problem, especially the bedding, and the bathrooms had a slight sewer smell. We tried the hotel’s highest room category for our second night, but it was much the same as the first, so we switched back.

We were a group staying in 8 rooms, and in 4 of them the bed linen was still unchanged despite repeated requests. It had yellow marks and hairs on it. The rooms were dirty and the hotel poorly maintained. Really disgusting.
