I used to love dining here and had been coming for years, but the last two visits were disappointing. The rice field view is still great, but the staff weren't attentive and seemed busy doing their own thing. The food has gone downhill too, maybe there's new management. I'd only come back for the fruit tea.
Think twice before booking their villa. What they advertised didn't match what we found: it was poorly maintained, and nobody helped when we ran into problems. After we complained for a long time, they said they'd refund us, but there's still been no reply since.
The rice field and ocean views are gorgeous, and the cafe has a fun, funky feel, with a few things for sale downstairs. We come here at least four times a week, sometimes more, and it’s become our regular spot. The staff are always friendly and incredibly helpful. Most dishes have meat, but there are several vegetarian and vegan choices, and we’re vegan and love the food every time. I especially like the Zero Waste pumpkin porridge and the hummus. The smoothies are delicious, the coffee’s excellent, and there’s groovy music plus a day bed where you can lounge. Dogs are welcome upstairs and down. Love this place!
I’m only reviewing the restaurant, since we haven’t stayed there. I used to meet friends for lunch because I loved the open-air setting and the view. The food was tasty and nicely presented back then. When I went again last week, though, the food and plating had both gone downhill, and the staff weren’t attentive at all. I was quite disappointed and don’t think I’ll go back.
We live in Kediri as expats and have been here at least ten times. It’s been excellent every single visit, with great food, lovely staff, and an upstairs dining area that looks over the rice fields. Joshua District has definitely become one of our regular places 😁😁😁
