Olibert Hotel Parapat Ajibata

The room was okay, with a comfortable bed, no mosquitoes, and a temperature that wasn't too hot or cold. But the bathroom was just a toilet with a bucket of water for flushing, and the same bucket was used to bathe, so the water was cold. We ended up here because our bus was late and we'd miss the ferry to Samosir, so we didn't spend long looking for a hotel. Still, it was disappointing. Mosque and church sounds started before sunrise and woke us, then chickens and road noise kept us from falling back asleep. That's not the staff's fault, but it's something to keep in mind. The place looks like little has changed since it opened. It's maintained enough to be comfortable, but that's about it. It's near the ferry, and on the next street there's a church, a pile of waste, and a good view of the lake.
