OYO 3772 Cigadog Residence

We only used mineral water to brush our teeth and wash up. We didn't shower because the heater wasn't working, and it was 13°C. The room was full of insects, the old-fashioned lock was hard to secure, and the bathroom was dirty and smelled bad. The flush didn't work, the bucket and ladle were filthy, and the sheets were worn, smelly, and seemed unwashed for a long time. They made us itchy. There's no closet either. There was just one staff member, and they were very incompetent. We arrived in the rain, but they didn't help carry our things upstairs, even though the road was slippery. They kept telling us not to expect much for 250,000 Rupiah. We knew what that price meant, but that doesn't justify treating guests as if they were in a goat pen or looking down on them. A definite no for this place.

It feels like camping in the forest, except there's a bed, toilet, and hot water. The room isn't the best, but for under 200 with OYO, it felt like a good deal. The weather is really cold, so bring thick clothes. The hot water worked very well, and the manager was helpful. You can ask for food, drinks, or even firewood, and the place was fairly clean, though the bathroom door was broken. There are tourist spots around, and Ciwidey town square isn't far. I liked the atmosphere and weather enough that I'd come back.

This is a nature-style place to stay, good for family or friends, and close to several tourist areas in Ciwidey. The air is cold, so bring a thick jacket. Booking offline is better if you want an affordable rate, and you can call ahead to check for an empty room. Rooms have an en-suite bathroom, TV, and blankets. There's also a place to eat, and you can request firewood. The service is friendly. I hope it keeps getting better, and wish them continued success ☺️

The restaurant is the strong point here. The food is tasty and reasonably priced, and the staff are very friendly. For eating at the hut or restaurant, I'd recommend it. Staying overnight is a definite no for me, though, and I won't return. The mattress already slopes in the middle and gave me back pain. There were no toiletries or even a trash can. The bathroom has a huge hole instead of a proper floor drain, and with the accommodation in the forest, I'm afraid snakes or other animals could get in. The wooden building is shoddily made, with gaps everywhere that let animals inside. I was anxious trying to sleep in case insects got into my ears. It looks appealing only from the outside. For two people, the rate is 250,000 Rupiah. What should you expect, I guess? Even a villa in MT for four people is only 400,000 Rupiah, which seems comparable for the capacity.
