Blue Ocean Bingin

The stairs down are steep, but they're short enough that it wasn't too difficult. The staff were attentive and always seemed nearby, and I loved seeing baby monkeys pass through in the mornings. Apart from the yappy poodle in the next room, the stay was perfect. The loft balcony has sunsets that seem to go on forever. It really did look like the pictures for once. Great spot near the beach and a fun warung, with Bambu just a short walk away for breakfast and the gym. There's a nice minibar too. I'd love to come back ❤️

Booked at the last minute on B.com and regretted it. The photos seem to be years old. The place is run down, and the cleaning wasn't very good. The route to the beach has lots of steps and a narrow little passage, with construction and sewage lines along the way. It took me more than 20 minutes just to find the place, and there was hardly any signage. I wanted to cancel and move, but it was too late. For more than 2mil, you're paying for the view, that's all. There was hair all over the bathroom when I checked in, even though I'm bald, and the bed is so close to the railing there's barely room to move. If you're bringing suitcases, good luck hauling them up and down more than 30 steps. I wouldn't recommend booking here. It wasn't worth the time or money.

We booked an expensive deluxe room with a sea view, but all we could see was the roof of a house. The hot water lasted at most two minutes, so washing meant rushing through it. It makes you wonder why the room even has a bath. At express check-in, staff spent half an hour trying to work out which room we'd booked because they couldn't find our reservation. Ten minutes after we got into the room, the power went off. Staff said it would be out for at least three hours, and there was a curtain. Mobile reception didn't work at the hotel, and nobody there could get in touch with management. They refused to refund us. They said it was our fault for leaving, then offered 25% back as a "gesture of goodwill." What a weekend, sitting in a cold bath with no view, power or signal.

We came in August and had a terrific stay. We booked the ‘Luxury Apartment with Ocean View’ on Airbnb, and communication was excellent. Everyone on the team was wonderful before and during our visit. I usually need a few days to settle into holiday mode, but felt completely relaxed at Blue Ocean within 24 hours. The ocean, waves, surfers and boats make a gorgeous view, and waking to the sound of waves in the distance was so calming. There are plenty of stairs, but beach access is quick. Towels were provided, and the team helped with all our luggage and surfboard bags. I extended my trip to spend more nights on the Bingin Beach cliffs, but Blue Ocean was booked up, so I tried another cliff villa. It looked good online and cost more, yet it wasn't nearly as nice, clean or professional and easy as Blue Ocean. I can't wait to return!
