Cemara Hills Uluwatu, The Reserve - Cottages & Villas

The staff made things easy from the start, especially with their quick, useful WhatsApp replies. They also washed and dried our 7kg of laundry in under 4 hours for less than £15, and it came back in perfect condition. We had great meals at the restaurant and used Gojek delivery a couple of times too, which arrived without any trouble. The property is peaceful and beautifully calm, and even nicer in person than the photos suggest. Everything was spotless, with our room refreshed daily. Gojek rides into the main areas were easy to get and cost around £2. We were in Uluwatu for 3 nights as a British couple aged 26 and 30. We’d happily come back. It was a beautiful place and an absolute steal for what we paid.

Cemara Hills is quiet and tucked away from Uluwatu’s busy, noisy streets, which makes it a lovely place to unwind. The staff are friendly and helpful, the service was excellent, and breakfast is good value. You can choose privacy or regular room service by putting the appropriate sign outside your door. Getting to the villa can confuse some taxi drivers, though, and that sometimes adds delays. There are plenty of mosquitos, so bring enough repellent. They have a plug-in one, but you’ll need more. 4.5/5

Cemara sits uphill from the main road, so it’s wonderfully quiet, with no scooter noise. We rented a scooter there to get to the beach. The garden and pool views were lovely, and the house was clean and comfortable. The people working there were so friendly and helpful. Breakfast was fantastic, and you could have it by the pool, on your private terrace, or in the shared area. We had a great week, everything was beyond perfect. Totally recommend!

Ardana deserves a special thank you for helping us arrange everything smoothly on our last day. The team was kind and accommodating, even letting us into our room early and stay later on the final day. The rooms are beautiful and spacious, and breakfast has lots of options. The hotel itself is lovely, with a peaceful pool and a nice garden. I can only recommend staying here in Uluwatu, and hope to come back.
