Grün Uluwatu

The pool area is beautiful, but the lanterns block a view that would otherwise be breathtaking. I'd suggest making them an evening feature so guests can enjoy the full view during the day. The rest of the grounds are thoughtfully designed, well maintained, and spotlessly clean. I loved how green and alive the hotel feels, and that it isn't crowded, which suits an introvert like me. The staff were attentive and genuinely friendly without making a fuss, just the right amount of care. Every morning I went to yoga, then had a hot shower, made coffee, and spent ages on the balcony watching the trees. It was so peaceful. The bathroom amenities were lovely, and the robes were beautiful and good quality. Working on my laptop at Octagon was a pleasure, comfortable and inspiring.

I felt looked after right away, which meant a lot as a woman travelling alone on my first visit to Bali. Reception were especially helpful. The place is lush, beautiful, and very clean, with friendly staff, lovely food, and great views. I also really enjoyed the morning yoga. Such a gorgeous stay, thank you for everything.

We spent a lot of time enjoying the pool, cold plunge, and morning yoga, and renting a scooter directly from the hotel made getting around easy. There were friendly cats about, and one morning we even spotted a calf on the property, which was a fun surprise. There was a booking mix-up with Agoda: we had reserved a studio, but the hotel had been told we booked a different room in the retreat centre. Luckily they weren't sold out, so they could give us the studio we originally booked. We did wait while it was prepared, and the team kindly offered us a drink at the restaurant and a complimentary massage. One of us liked the massage, while the other found it too firm, but we appreciated the gesture. The WhatsApp concierge was very responsive and helpful throughout our stay. It was a relaxing stay, with good facilities and attentive service.

The dining venue served really good food, and the surroundings felt peaceful and refreshingly different. We loved the jungle concept and had a wonderful stay. Hamdi was especially welcoming. He showed us around in the buggy, explained everything in detail, and helped make our departure smooth, always with a smile. The WhatsApp service was also impressive, with quick replies even late at night. Great hospitality all around.
