The rooms were nice and had good AC. The bathrooms could use some attention, but for the money it wasn’t too bad. It’s a lovely setting, fairly close to the beach, though cafes, bars, and restaurants are a bit far away. You’ll probably want a scooter.

We only arrived today, but the place is clean and the grounds are well cared for. They make eggs for breakfast, and I’m a fan of the outdoor private shower, especially its shape and roof. Staff have already been really helpful.

The rooms and pool were okay, but don’t rely on the villa staff for a driver. They quoted us 400k for a ride to Canggu. The driver claimed that was the only price around, and that Uber and GoJek couldn’t come in. A local friend told me the local drivers act like a mafia, frightening or attacking taxi drivers to protect their business, and that tourists are charged high prices. We eventually got a GoJek driver down the street and paid only 150k to reach Canggu. Don’t trust the villa staff.

We had a nice stay, right in the center of Ulu Wattu. The garden was beautiful, and I liked that the bathroom was outdoors but had a roof.
