Menjangan Hill

I had a great time relaxing and taking in the panorama from this lovely jungle setting. The bungalows look out over the sea, with incredible views. The place is clean, tidy, and well cared for, and the staff are friendly. They’re also involved in a breeding and release project for the Bali starling, one of the world's rarest birds. I’d recommend staying at Menjangan Hill if you visit West Bali National Park.

From the hilltop rooms, the view is killer. The service was what really made the place stand out, with staff going out of their way to tailor the menu, arrange tours, and set up relaxing massages. There’s a good list of things to do nearby, and Pemutaran has some nice cafes a short drive away if you want to eat out.

A nice spot to take pictures and relax for a few days. Breakfast is included and tasty, the price is affordable, late check-in is available, and the staff are lovely. The aircon is powerful. The road in is very narrow and steep, and the place is remote, though many hotels in this town have the same location and road issue. Still, worth a visit.

Google Maps made the resort easy to find. It's up in the hills overlooking Menjangan, with just 4 bungalows, so it felt private and quiet. Our bungalow had good air con, but we slept without it and didn’t wake until 8.30. The shower was great, with the best hot water I’ve had in a long while, and the small pool was fine for us even if you can’t swim laps. North Bali is still feeling the effects of the COVID shutdown, so there weren’t many tourists. Dinner options were very limited, though the boys went out and bought us beers. The resort still has some recovering to do, and things may improve as more people stay. I’d still recommend it for the amazing views, but bring a few supplies while it gets fully up and running. A great old-Bali stay.
