Ketut and his family made me feel welcome from the start, and I ended up extending my stay for several nights. It was a much more nourishing travel experience than places where I’ve paid quite a bit more. I even got pancakes in the morning. Ketut also shared useful recommendations and helped arrange a visit to the Inje volcano on Java.

I’d planned to stay a week, then added another after a few days because being with Ketut's family was such a good experience. He welcomed me warmly, and I felt like a valued guest for both weeks. He helped with a taxi from the ferry, rented me their old bike cheaply, invited me to lunch with the family, and took me to their local temple for a new moon cleansing ceremony. I’m grateful I got to be a guest here. The room is beautifully built, with thoughtful details, and the bathroom feels like its own art space. Everything worked well. My one inconvenience was the thin wall between rooms. You can hear the people next door, who often stayed just one night, and smell cigarette smoke if they smoked. I recommend staying longer to enjoy the family’s Balinese welcome and the quiet village life.

The owner and his family were so welcoming and lovely. The room was super nice, and the bathroom was amazing. It felt really affordable for what I paid. The place is close to the main road, so there was some noise. I wouldn’t suggest it to anyone who can’t sleep with noise, but it was fine for me. My partner is just a bit picky about that, lol.
