New Hollywood Hotel Pekanbaru

I’ve been back to New Hollywood Hotel twice because the rooms are so comfortable for the price. They’re modern, clean, and recently renovated, with new-looking furniture and a full set of amenities. Even a hairdryer is provided, which you don’t often get at this price, and the bed is really comfortable. It’s a few kilometers from central Pekanbaru, but I think the comfort makes up for that. There are some things to keep in mind. Music from the nearby bistro/pub/cafe carries into the rooms and can be heard until midnight. The spa and gym cost extra, and they don’t open until around 11 AM, so an early workout isn’t an option. Check-in also felt unprofessional on both my visits. The reception staff seemed more interested in joking with each other than helping guests. Still, for a clean, comfortable, newly renovated room at this price in Pekanbaru, it’s a solid choice and better than most.

The room has been renovated and the location is nice, but the club downstairs makes for a noisy night. The soundproofing is poor, so don’t expect a quiet rest. Check-in took at least 30 minutes. The security guard was disrespectful, and although there was plenty of basement parking, cones blocked it off and guests had to park outside, far away.

Getting around Pekanbaru is easy from this hotel, which sits right in the city center near public places. The tricky part is reaching the parking area: the road is narrow, so watch out for cars coming the other way. You could end up brushing against them.

We held our wedding here, and the setup looked beautiful. The staff were helpful and the service was excellent. Everything went well.
