Bayu Amrta Hotel & Restaurant

The sea view from the terrace is lovely, especially at sunset and at night over Pelabuhan Ratu. There are two sets of stairs down to the beach: one goes to a rocky stretch where you can fish or sit quietly and take in the view. The other reaches a “private sandy beach,” but it looked neglected, dirty, and somewhat dark between two hills and tall trees. I booked a regular room on a weekday, without a sea view. The room and toilet were clean, the air-conditioning worked well, and the TV was fine, though channel choices were very limited. The staff gave good service. On weekdays there was no breakfast buffet; they offered fried rice with egg and coffee or tea instead. I'd still recommend the hotel.

Some rooms look out over Palabuhan Ratu bay, and the hotel is easy to reach from the main road with other tourist spots nearby. It's on a cliff and seems better suited to families than business travelers. The decor is old-fashioned, and the shower's water circulation didn't work well. During the pandemic, guests got a small serving of fried rice for breakfast.

The room was standard, with a double bed, flat-screen TV, towels, and a fairly clean bathroom with amenities. Breakfast was tasty too. I was there for business in Palabuhanratu, and the setting made it a good place to stay, with beautiful views straight out to the Hindia Ocean. I enjoyed the scenery and morning atmosphere while jogging.

Close to town, with friendly staff. Our Delux Room plus had a good sea view, and we could hear the waves hitting the rocks steadily. The hotel is older and was being renovated after the Covid slowdown, but we had a great stay. There are probably flashier places around, yet we'd return to Bayu Amrta.
