Kuda Laut Bungalows & Diving

Cathrin is a really capable owner and seems to have whatever you might need. The rooms are great, with a mezzanine for reading or relaxing and an outdoor bathroom that feels close to nature. I felt confident diving with Cathrin straight away, and her experience as an instructor really showed. The breakfast was fresh, and everything here was great. A lovely place to stay in pemuteran.

The garden and pool are immaculate and peaceful, with birdsong and the occasional rooster nearby. The pool stayed at a lovely temperature all day. The staff are warm and friendly, and made it feel like coming home. I loved the fresh juices the tean made in the morning and the hot Bali coffee. There are plenty of Local Warung restaurants within walking distance, and some also deliver straight to the hotel. The bungalows are gorgeous, with tasteful decor, an upstairs private living space, air conditioning and nice hot showers after a swim. For diving, Cathrine is so helpful with advice, the equipment is high quality and felt very safe when I wasn’t using my own gear. Menjangan is well worth visiting, and the local reefs had amazing macro life too. The in-house lunches were super tasty, so after trying one I kept having them all week. Cathrine runs a phenomenal boutique hotel here, and I’m coming back. If you’re looking for a place to stay in Pemuteran, this is it. 10* out of 5*. Thanks Catherine and team. - Abby

Cathrin and the staff made me feel at home and like part of the family every day. The bungalows are spacious, beautiful and very clean, with a lovely garden and pool. If you’re learning to dive or want a fun dive, they’re patient and experienced, and know how to ease a beginner’s fears and make it fun. I loved that the area is less touristy than other places on bali. This place deserves more than five stars, and I can’t wait to come back!

Nearby Menjangan Island is underrated for diving, with lovely walls, soft coral and fans. The owner is delightful and knows a lot about marine life. After a long international flight, the grounds and pool felt like an oasis. Our bungalow was huge and stylish, with a lofty upstairs hangout space that we loved. Breakfast was great, and the woman who cooks is really talented. There’s also a good nearby restaurant serving Thai dishes when you want a change. We enjoyed our stay so much we didn’t want to leave, and we’ll definitely return.
