Ode Resto Guesthouse

Ode and his family run a great restaurant, with really good food and awesome juices. The staff are all kind, and Ode is always happy to share stories about Balinese culture. I highly recommend coming here for authentic Balinese food in a cozy, welcoming atmosphere.

The service was good and the beers were cold. It’s just another small local restaurant, nothing especially remarkable. I gave three stars, which is actually above average for me. The pricing is a little odd: it seems to be the only small business that adds tax, lowering the beer price and then charging tax, which makes it marginally more expensive. Still, I’d definitely pop in and try it for yourself. I like checking out as many different places as I can.

About a five-minute walk gets you to the main Pemuteran beach, and the convenience shop is just a minute down the road. It’s also close to all the restaurants, and there’s a restaurant at the guest house itself. Our room was beautiful, the staff were friendly, and breakfast was really good. It wasn’t very busy, so the staff could cater to everything we needed. Great place for travellers and couples, and the price makes it even better: around £17 or $22 per night for two people. Would highly recommend.

We had a reservation for two nights, but the room wasn’t as advertised and didn’t even have a proper bed. It turned out the hotel was overbooked. That’s bad enough, but offering us such a poor alternative without explaining anything was cheeky.
