Sudi Guest House

We had an amazing stay, and I couldn’t have asked for a better first visit to Bali. The staff are really friendly and will arrange everything for you if you want.

After the long ride from Denpasar, this was just the cozy, artistic, quaint, affordable place we needed for a good night’s rest. Breakfast came with the room. It was simple but satisfying before our next stretch, more than four hours through Central Bali, with stops for photos and video along the way. The open-sky shower was hot and refreshing, and the air conditioning kept us wonderfully cool while we slept. A++

For the price, this is a great place, with a quiet setting and lovely hill views. There’s a mosque a few blocks away, though we barely noticed it. Sudi and Kadak were fantastic, helpful hosts who know the area. Kadak works at a good local dive center. They were especially kind and helpful when one of us became sick.

The main drawback was the room’s poor insulation. We could hear the people in the next room loud and clear, and the dog barking outside. At least the place isn’t on the main street, so there’s less traffic noise. The room itself was comfortable and very nice, with a safe. The air conditioning and hot water both worked fine. Breakfast was okay, about what you’d expect at a homestay: fruit salad, toast, coffee or tea, and a choice of pancake or omelette. They also greeted us with a refreshing welcome drink, and the staff were friendly enough.
