Babahan Farmstay

I finally got one of those rare stretches of real peace and quiet here, and slept so well. The place is amazing, and so are the people who own it.

The village and scenery were wonderful, and the host was great. I spent 2.5 years living in Bali, and this was the most authentic Bali experience I had, as well as the finest place I stayed on the island.

Kadek and Roy made the stay feel like being looked after by neighbours away from home. They were accommodating and always up for a chat. I’d happily return. The setting is lovely for a quiet farm stay, with cats and dogs around, and there’s a natural hot spring a short walk away. Water comes out of a small cliff there, a nice spot to sit under and watch the fireflies. Inside, the house has what you need, including sharp knives, and the bed was really comfortable. Electricity and hot water worked without trouble. Internet was fine by Bali standards, though it dropped out now and then; Kadek said the speed could be increased if requested. The folding doors open right out to a little rice paddy valley, with a babbling creek below. It’s a lovely view for reading or having coffee, and the whole nature setting is great for resting and taking it slow.

The house had a lovely countryside view and a kitchen where we could make our own meals. We also got a really nice breakfast. Kadek was a fantastic host, and the peaceful, beautiful surroundings made us feel as if we were sleeping in the jungle. We loved staying here.
