Leaving was hard. The people and the beautiful setting had really grown on me, and I’m grateful our paths crossed because I got to discover the rich culture of Bali and that village. The place feels authentic, with culture and nature present in every detail. Ado, the owner, goes out of his way to make meaningful moments through activities and genuine connection. I can wholeheartedly recommend it, 100%.

The rooms were very poor. There was no internet except at reception, and the water pump made noise all night.

I booked a Family room with Balcony for 4++ through Agoda because I planned to stay with my husband and child. At the property, though, we were given two separate rooms. My child couldn’t sleep in a room away from us, so we used just one small room, which shouldn’t have cost 4++. I messaged Mr. Putu, and he said they didn’t cooperate with Agoda. I didn’t understand and didn’t pursue it further, but I can’t recommend this place, especially if booking through Agoda.

We came for a quiet break and found TEGAL JERO Homestay tucked near Jatiluwuh and Batukaru, with cool weather and a welcome escape from the island’s crowded spots. Trees and a gentle river create a calm setting, and the mix of traditional houses and cabins gives the place a distinctive feel. The staff were friendly and made us feel welcome. Everything was clean and orderly. I also appreciated that the owner made a special menu for someone like me who loves Nasi Bakar. A lovely, peaceful retreat for anyone wanting a little rest.
