Lautan Kupu - Kupu Villas

Canggu was a favorite part of the stay, with so many great restaurants and a much more relaxed feel than Seminyak or Kuta. I spent 10 days here on my own and LOVED it. There are only 7 rooms, so things feel personal, but the whole villa still has an easy, home-like atmosphere. The staff were warm and helpful from the minute I arrived, and nothing felt like too much trouble. The pool was lovely for a cool swim, and breakfast had good healthy options. The bedrooms are beautifully decorated, with huge comfy beds and spacious outdoor bathrooms. I also had amazing massages, and I’m fussy about that. The beach is right next door, it’s good value, and Naka, the beautiful friendly dog who lives here, was a joy. Stay here!

The property is beautiful, and I had no complaints about my stay. The staff were incredibly friendly, the Wi-Fi worked perfectly, and the location felt private and removed from crowds while still making town and surf spots easy to reach.

The staff were very helpful and friendly, and the property itself is nice. The construction, though, really affected the stay. Some rooms are being renovated, and the first one I was offered was right beside that work, with dust and noise. There’s also a large construction site next door, making noise every day from 8 am. It seems to have been there for more than two years. I was looking for a calmer part of Canggu, away from the hotspots, so daily drilling and hammering next door was especially frustrating. I’d expect the owners or management to tell guests about this clearly in advance, particularly for a place in this category. They didn’t seem interested in doing that. After quite a bit of back and forth with the booking agency, I got a small discount and a room farther from the renovation on site. That didn’t really make up for the disappointment and hassle of looking for somewhere else and moving around.

The pool is good, and surfers will find the beach just 3 minutes away. It’s a great place to relax if you want somewhere less rural. The staff, food, and facilities were all great.
