Sound of the Sea Villa

What made the stay so memorable was the staff. They were kind, professional, always smiling, and available day and night, which made us feel cared for every day. The property has two separate houses with lovely rooms, which worked well for our family with kids. There’s a huge pool where we spent hours swimming and relaxing, and plenty of space for our celebration. It felt private, safe, and set up for enjoying ourselves. From the moment we arrived, the ocean view and the location made a big impression. It really felt like paradise. We honestly didn’t want to leave. 🌴✨

The staff are what made this place stand out. Dewa and Raka looked after us most of the time, from welcome drinks and poolside cocktails to a home-cooked meal from the villa chef. Everything felt easy. Booking a driver through the villa also made getting around, even as far as Ubud, stress-free. Bali traffic surprised us, though. A 30-minute drive could easily take an hour and a half. The villa was just like the photos, maybe even better. Its six bedrooms are split between two buildings, with an open-air living area joining them, so we had room to gather and still enjoy privacy. It’s peaceful and quiet, a welcome retreat from Bali’s chaos. When the river is low enough, you can walk to some charming beachfront cafes nearby. We loved our stay and didn’t want to leave.

Our family made some lovely memories at Sound of the Seas, and the staff deserve so much of our thanks. Dodi, Dew, and Rama took great care of us. Budi and Bayu made wonderful food, especially the Beef Rendang and Chicken Curry, which we’ll really miss. Everyone behind the scenes helped make the place special too. We’re grateful to the gardeners, pool cleaners, maintenance staff, and all the others I can’t name. If we cross paths again, we’d be thrilled. Highly recommend!

The food was great every day, and the team’s service was excellent throughout our stay. There are meal packages, but they’ll cook most things. The villa is right on the beach, which was a real bonus for the surfer in our group. It’s in a quiet part of Canggu, with little noise from Lyma Beach Bar, where the food, drinks, service, and location were all great. We used four of the five bedrooms. The two we skipped are on the small side, and the one with an outdoor bathroom didn’t seem very functional, especially in the wet season. We tried the tennis court and it was fine. The pool was very good, but the spa wasn’t working. The small gym needs attention. It has a treadmill that slips, plus a bike and elliptical that didn’t work. They all looked at least 25 years old, and there’s limited air conditioning, so it gets very hot. I’d have liked a cinema room for family movies. We brought a projector and Fire Stick, and the team hung a sheet over a wall divider for us. Still, I’d definitely recommend staying here.
