If you're after luxury, beach clubs, nightclubs, or picture-perfect scenery for Instagram, this isn't for you. But it suited us as a quiet base, within easy walking distance of shops, markets, restaurants, and the still-incredible beach. It's an old-style, two-star Bali place about 100 m from the sand, and we found it extremely peaceful and convenient despite fancy hotels now surrounding it. It used to sit among rice paddies. The owners clearly care for the huge private gardens and all those mango trees, rather than filling the space with more rooms. The hotel is clean, the aircon works fine, the pool is huge, and the owners are helpful when you ask. Bali has lost a lot of what made it itself and can feel like a theme park built around tourists' idea of the island, so this place was a welcome change.

The angle grinder next door is going all day, since there's a steel fabricator beside the place. Cleanliness could be better, and the route to the coast is a complete junkyard. At least we still have our kidneys. Otherwise, it's a nice place.

Being so close to the center of Seminyak was the best thing about this hotel. The room furniture was old, and the bathrooms are half open, which left us feeling a little unsafe. I never saw anyone use the pool. They charged an extra 500K for a stained bed cover. I agreed to pay, though I thought 500K was a bit expensive. I can't really recommend the place.

The host was friendly, and it was peaceful despite being close to town and the beach. The property is broad and green, with spacious, clean rooms and large outdoor bathrooms. Our problem was the open-air room design. Depending on the neighbors, it can get really noisy, and we struggled to sleep. I wouldn't stay again.

The hosts were wonderful and very helpful. The units are lovely and peaceful, with a large, well-kept lawn and gardens, plus a good-sized pool. It's easy to get to the beach and main street.
