The Kumpi Bali by the Lavana

The pool area looked impressive, but walking into the room made me look for another place straight away. The walls were very moldy, which isn’t acceptable, especially for someone with asthma. Water sprayed in different directions from the shower head too. Quite disappointing overall.

After a long trip, I arrived in the evening and was told they’d double-booked my room, even though I had a confirmed booking. I waited 1.5hours before they said they’d take me to another homestay and pay for it. The other place was in horrible condition, and when they cancelled that booking, I had to pay for it myself. Worst place ever.

The place is quiet, with only a few rooms, and there’s greenery around the small pool, which is rarely used. It’s a nice spot to sunbathe, and the location is strategic for reaching other parts of South Bali. But I had a disappointing stay and wouldn’t return unless their service improves. When we arrived at The Kumpi Bali, there was no receptionist or check-in information. We called the number on Google, but they didn’t seem to know about our reservation. It took ages for someone to come help. The room was small, had no TV, and the floor was still wet. There were no towels, shampoo, or soap either, and there was nobody around to ask for them. For the price, it didn’t feel worthwhile. Parking is only available for motorbikes, and the property is hard to find because Google Maps has no clear signage.

I booked the Kumpi by the Levana for a month but left after a week. The host family was kind, but hard to reach, and the support team was difficult to contact too. I raised all the issues with support and got no solution or compensation, which was very disappointing. I almost never leave Google reviews, especially negative ones, but I wouldn’t recommend staying here. The room walls, including those in my neighbors’ rooms, were dirty and looked moldy. The wood seemed contaminated, and little bugs came out of the bureau beside my things. When I reported it, they only cleaned the floor. The shower had no pressure, and rain brought brown water through the front doors and into the room. Some outdoor photos showed a cafe across the way, not the Kumpi garden. During my week there, I saw several guests arrive in the evening without any welcome or check-in instructions. They waited outside with their suitcases for hours, including my friend. I also spoke with other guests who were unhappy but felt unable to leave because they’d already spent the money.
