Villas Utama

Utama Village made my Bali stay unforgettable. It’s tucked into a quiet part of Canggu, with a lovely oasis-like feel, and the owners are cheerful and helpful. There are different types of accommodation to suit everyone. I can’t wait to return.

The villas are nice and the bed was good, but the bathroom wasn’t properly clean. I also had to leave my villa early because they had people arriving early. The owner was kind, though I found him a bit two-faced and sketchy. I wouldn’t recommend it.

The staff were incredible. The man who greeted us helped with everything, recommended some really cool places, took us to the laundry, and arranged our airport transfer. The prices for all of it were very good.

It’s cosy enough and may suit a tight budget, but if anything goes wrong, you’re on your own. At night, a colony of termites or ants suddenly started crawling up a corner of our bungalow and flying around the room. There were hundreds of dead insects after staff sprayed and chased them away, including on the sheets and in our luggage. We alerted the staff, who contacted the manager, but he said there was no other room available. We moved elsewhere, and staff asked us to come by the next day. After some back and forth, the manager still refused to refund what we paid, saying we had seen the room before, obviously before the insects appeared. I wish I’d taken photos, but I hadn’t expected trouble. Dishonest manager.
