Bromo Park Hotel

After staying in villages in Pontianak, Bromo Park Hotel felt comparatively luxurious. My bedroom and bathroom were both spacious and clean. Haze can hide the distant mountain views, and the neighborhood can be noisy, though shops and roadside stalls are within walking distance. I ordered room service for dinner on both nights; it was prompt and delicious. Breakfast had a wide selection. A good stopover for visiting Mount Bromo.

Street noise carries into the rooms, and the hotel was noisy. We asked about it and were told the whole hotel was full, which was hard to believe for a place with hundreds of rooms. Otherwise, the rooms were in good shape. It was okay.

We didn't like the hotel. It was expensive, and the room was poor, with no ventilation 😜. The à la carte food was good, but I'd avoid breakfast. No fresh juice or local coffee, just a Nespresso machine, and lots of fillers and fried food. Not healthy.

We stayed first in room 714, then moved to 514. Both were deluxe rooms, spacious, with roomy toilets. Cleanliness was amazing and the staff were polite. Breakfast was basic but satisfactory. The one drawback was the AC placement at the far end of the room, so it didn't reach the sleeping area, which got hot and stuffy. The AC in the large rooms needs major improvement.
