Dominic Hotel Purwokerto

Dominic Hotel has a good location, but the rest of my stay was frustrating. I booked a deluxe suite and ended up wishing my 5D4N holiday would be over sooner. The room wasn't soundproof: I could hear people talking and walking outside, other guests using their toilets, and locals revving and speeding on motorcycles at night, something I imagine the local authority frowns on. The cupboard smelled moldy, so I didn't dare hang my clothes in it. I also had to switch rooms after two bugs crawled up my arms just as I was about to sleep in the first one. There was no hand soap, and I had to request a hairdryer. The one they brought looked old and sounded like it was begging me to stop using it. The TV channels were limited, as expected, but the audio could either work normally or yell at me as though it blamed me for turning it on. Breakfast was included in what I paid, but the ants crawling in and out of the sugar pot by the coffee went unaddressed by staff. The Mendoan was the one decent part: warm, though not crispy, and you were lucky to get it freshly made when staff replenished it. I wish the rice, noodles, and vegetables had been kept warm. Cold food isn't a good start to the day. Just get eggs and Mendoan, have your coffee, and leave. On my fourth day, the key card chip seemed to stop working. I went between my room and the lobby three times to test it before the receptionist finally replaced the card. Why make a paying guest go through that instead of issuing a new one right away? The facilities need an upgrade. I saw the awards at the lobby reception desk and hope the management team at Dominic Hotel sees this and improves the service and quality. It would be a shame for a well-known local establishment in Purwokerto to keep declining.
