Luminor Hotel Purwokerto

The Christmas decorations were lovely, and my kid enjoyed the welcome drink, ice cream, and snack for each guest. Great food, facilities, service, and location. We'll be back for sure. Thank you for the wonderful hospitality, Luminor Purwokerto! ❤️

I stayed at a WH group hotel for the first time, despite there being many WH hotels in Indonesia. Luminor Purwokerto is a relatively new four-star hotel. It works well for a business trip, and a family staycation is still acceptable. The building and rooms are on the small side, as you'd expect of a new hotel. I liked the corridor walls, with rectangular steel plates arranged like bricks, and the room number font looked nice too. The room suits one person or a couple, though I don't think it'd work as well for people bringing kids. My bed in room 806 was quite noisy, which was disappointing in a relatively new hotel. The room was clean, amenities were complete, and there was refillable mineral water in the corridor. The eighth-floor view was nice, even if not the best. Breakfast had a decent variety for this class, and the food tasted okay to me. There's even unlimited ice cream from a machine guests operate themselves, which is honestly rare. The hotel also has a pool, kids' playground, and gym. They're limited in capacity, but still appreciated. The location is very convenient, right beside Purwokerto Square and Rita Super Mall, with the train station less than ten minutes away.

The strategic location was the only real plus for me. The rest of the stay felt like three stars at most. The room key card failed at check-in, so I had to return to the lobby. The door still wouldn't open on the second try, and it turned out the door itself had a problem. The bathroom and towels smelled unpleasant. I wasn't expecting much from breakfast, but when I came down at 08:30, most of it looked unappetizing and several items had run out. I also found out the bottled water in the room cost IDR 15,000 each. There was no price label and nobody mentioned the charge at check-in. It wasn't really about the money, but the lack of notice felt misleading, like I was being tricked. I'd look at another hotel in the same price range. There are plenty of chains with much better service.

There was a smoking smell in the room. The free breakfast fell short of what I expected, though the stay was okay overall.
