Hotel O Putra Family Homestay Sikunir

The guard was friendly and offered to help with our bags, and the room we had booked was ready when we arrived around 8 p.m. The homestay is easy to spot on the main road toward Sikunir, on a corner near the lake. We felt safe there. Our two-bedroom booking cost 100,000 IDR and was affordable. The downstairs family room actually has three rooms. We used two, and the guard offered us the third for an extra 100,000 IDR as “comfort money.” We didn't understand what that meant and politely said no. He then said it could be rented to someone else, with the kitchen and bathroom shared. We weren't too bothered, since we just wanted somewhere to rest, but our kids noticed movement in that room and thought someone was already inside, perhaps the owner or somebody else. Nobody came out to use the kitchen or bathroom while we were there. We guessed there might be another way out, as a small road beside the homestay led into an alley. The offer left us feeling a little uncomfortable, so I hope this is useful as a reference. The room, kitchen, and bathroom were clean, and there were glasses, plates, tea, coffee, and sugar. The water heater worked right through checkout. Parking was a bit away, out on the roadside, although there was a garage that only fit one car and a few motorcycles. In the morning we looked at the upstairs room. It was empty, and we could see it was comfortable. The higher up the rooms are, the more private they seem. There's also an outside balcony facing the lake for future discussions. Hopefully the price will match what's shown in the app, with no extra charges on the spot.

The slow service and the difference between what the app said and what we got made this a really disappointing stay. Next time, I'll check Google reviews before booking 😭

I'd book directly instead of through an app next time. I reserved well ahead and paid cash, but when I arrived they said the room was full. I didn't have much luggage with me, fortunately. The man was kind and found a workaround by arranging a room with his friend, but I still couldn't get my cash back, only points 😭

I had paid and arrived at the place, but there was no room available. Getting a refund was difficult too.
