The room was so cramped that we had to climb over our bags all day. The shower was directly over the toilet, with a very short hose. A gas flow-through heater supplied the hot water, but fluctuating pressure caused sudden bursts of steaming water. Not pleasant. The sewage needs repair because the room sometimes stinks, and the uninsulated windows collect condensation in the morning, with mold as a result. The staff were very friendly and tried their best, though the language barrier was massive. The hotel advertises English as a spoken language, so that was not okay. They sell set tours to dieng, and we took two, enjoying both. Food was decent, but the menu was limited. The location didn't work for us: almost nowhere to eat nearby, outside Grab range, and no nice views within walking distance. Calling this a hotel feels misleading, and I don't know what the two stars refer to, maybe the night sky. In my opinion it's a hostel at best. We'll stay somewhere else next time we're in the area.

The bed, toilet, and shared areas were clean, and the staff were willing to help despite not speaking English. It's a possible one-night stop before a Dieng sunrise hike, though there are other homestays closer to the plateau, and I can't speak to how clean those are. In the superior room, the sewage smell hit as soon as I entered. The room is tiny, barely enough space to open luggage and move around. The toilet is cramped and the shower pressure is weak. They provide a bucket, so you'll need to fill it to wash. The little basin leaked, and the Wi-Fi was almost nonexistent.

The room was clean and comfortable, and the Wi-Fi worked well. There's a kitchen and a smoking area too. The hot water got too hot and took a while to come through, but for the price, it was well worth it.

Support a local business here. The staff are really friendly, everything is clean, and opening the window in the morning gives you a jaw-dropping mountain view :)
