Nina Hotel Syariah

After a walk, coming back to the room felt like coming home. I stayed for two days, and the staff were very polite. For the price, the hotel was more comfortable than I expected, with a clean, nice room, a great bed and interior, and a lovely balcony.

The balcony was one of my favorite parts. A sliding glass door opens onto it, with curtains and blinds, and there’s a lounge chair and desk where you can sit with the fresh air. You can just make out Mount Merbabu, though the trees around the building partly block the view. The second-floor balcony is garden-like and gives you a clearer look at Mount Merbabu, so it’s a nice place for photos. The bathroom was clean, with an exhaust fan, and the warm water worked well. In the room there was a wardrobe with hangers, side tables, two chairs, and a TV. There weren’t many channels, but I didn’t spend much time in the room, so that wasn’t a problem for me. There were several WiFi options, though the connection was very poor when I was there. I found the hotel online and was glad I chose it over the other places I considered. It’s in central Salatiga at an intersection, near a gas station, with plenty of parking. The building and room were clean, and a gardener looked after the green areas. Check-in after booking online went smoothly. They asked for a deposit, either an ID card, a driving license, or IDR 100,000, which they returned at checkout. The room also came with two towels, a shower kit, a cup and saucer, and a few instant coffee sachets. There’s a corridor dispenser with hot and cold water, but no drinking water heater or fridge in the room. The front desk staff were kind and ready to help. For me, it’s worth spending a night here when visiting Salatiga.

It’s a new hotel with only a few rooms, but they’re comfortable. The balcony has a lovely mountain view. The water had problems sometimes, possibly because every room was booked.

My first impression was poor. It was pouring, and I couldn’t get dropped off at the lobby because the hotel owner’s car was parked there. My driver had to ask for an umbrella, and the receptionist just pointed to where it was without offering to help. I had to walk about 10 meters through the rain to get inside. There was no sense of hospitality, so I can’t see why I’d return.
