I picked this hotel for quick access to APT airport, and the location worked well. The rooms were clean and tidy, with an eye-catching interior, and I felt the facilities were good value. It’s cozy, the hospitality was good, and it sits right beside the province’s main road. There are mosques nearby, the food tasted good, and the rooftop restaurant had a nice city view. A few things could be better: parking and the drop-off area are small, as is the dining area. I also didn’t see a swimming pool. There’s a door between rooms that was locked, but noise still came through. On my last visit, a noisy neighbor kept me up until around 1-2 AM. Still, I’d stay here again sometime.

The room was good, and the hotel is right in the city center, but the hospitality was poor. I paid a deposit before getting the room, and when I checked out, the receptionist didn’t return it. I came back later to sort it out, but they still said they’d already given it to me. An hour after I left, they messaged to offer sending the deposit by bank transfer. I thought that was too late. That was bad, in my view.

The location is good, and the rooms are clean and well maintained. The pillows are small, though, and the towels are yellow.

If you’re an expat staying at this hotel, ask for Tini. Her English is great, which is rare among people here, and she’s a big help with whatever you need, including the meals on the rooftop. I recommend her!

The location made it easy to get to the city center and nearby attractions, and my family and I had a pleasant, memorable stay at FOX Lite Hotel Samarinda. The breakfast had plenty of tasty choices, and we enjoyed activities like swimming and live music. Our room was spacious and well equipped, the facilities felt modern and up to date, and the staff were friendly and happy to offer help or advice. The service was excellent.
