Zoom Hotel Mulawarman

Ever booked somewhere after only looking at the photos, thinking it looked modern and affordable, then regretted it? That's pretty much what happened to me. I really should read the reviews first. Guess I still haven't learned. The hotel has the basics, like hot water, air conditioning, and a spot near the city. But as a Muslim, I didn't feel comfortable here, especially later in the evening. The setting didn't feel gaze friendly at all. So far, this is the only hotel that's made me anxious enough at night that I couldn't sleep. I even slept better in an eerie, ghostly place than in this normal looking hotel. It was really noisy. Around midnight, people were laughing loudly, and I couldn't tell if it was coming from the hallway or the room above. There was loud music from the bar directly upstairs, even though I was on the second floor. I could hear creaking, people talking, and the neighbors hitting the wall. Someone even tried to open my door, probably drunk and unable to see straight. How does someone do that when they're in their right mind? Kids, stay away from alcohol. The furniture, bathroom, and floor were dusty and dirty, especially the floor under the bed. I'd give the cleanliness three stars, same as the hotel. Maybe I should've just picked a regular hotel. What if the cops show up and decide to raid the place?

A cozy, nice spot close to malls and other attractions, and a good deal for the price. It can get a little loud at night with the bar or club upstairs :3

I booked in a rush and didn't get to check the details, just noticed that customer reviews gave it a good rating. The location is great, right in the city center, but the room was smaller than I expected for the price. The staff were warm and friendly. The restaurant food was okay, though there wasn't much choice. The bathroom needs some work too: there was fungus, and the shower was a little broken, as you can see in the video.

The location is strategic, and our room was really comfortable. Happy with the friendly service during our stay. A fantastic hotel.
