Homestay Jayana

Indomaret is right across from the homestay, which is handy, though it's a long way from the main city street. I really liked it for my own taste. I've stayed in both VIP and standard rooms, and the differences were room size, shower head, and whether there was a sitting or squat toilet. Even the cheapest room had AC and a comfortable bed, and the receptionist is there 24 hours.

For a new homestay, it has clean water and bathrooms, a comfortable bed and pillow, and fresh sheets and a towel each day. Free drinks like mineral water, tea, and coffee are available 24 hours, and there's laundry service with one-day turnaround. Rooms are inexpensive, with a lower rate for monthly stays. There are some drawbacks: road traffic can be noisy inside, there's no backup generator during power cuts, and no Wi-Fi. The only GSM provider available is T*lkomsel. There's no towel hook in the room, and the bathroom doesn't provide soap or shampoo.

The toilet was clean but cramped. The bed was nice, though the AC still felt warm even when I set it to a low temperature.

For under $20, you get a clean room with Wi-Fi, TV, AC, and a private shower. If affordable hospitality is what you're after, this homestay is a good fit.
