The owners were so welcoming, and the food was delicious. The place itself is spotless and clearly well looked after. I slept comfortably, and the bathroom was lovely, with hot water 😀

Harisha cooked us wonderful, authentic Indonesian food, and there was never any chance of leaving hungry 😄 She and her husband really made sure we felt comfortable. The rooms were clean, though the broken shower cost them a star. The homestay is well placed for the city center and the museums. We'll remember it as one of the best places we've stayed in Indonesia 🌸

Sawahlunto's main building, the BA headquarters, is only a short walk away, and you can reach the museums on foot too. The place is right in the heart of town. Inside, it has the cozy feel of a grandma's house, with a koi pond, a guinea pig cage, and an unusual chicken coop. The owner was friendly, though we were the ones feeling a bit uncomfortable. Still, staying there felt like being at home.
